Works like a charm for my internal CD-ROM drive and an external DVD drive that I recently added. So no, I'm not using CDT at all any more; I'm using the hacked Apple extension. I also have 8.5.1 installed on an internal 9GB Seagate drive, this one formated with Apple's Drive Setup, also HFS+.

DVD playback problems on new external DVD drive.
The problem is, there is no way to load the necessary drivers for the dvd-rom drive. Windows 98 doesn't have any drivers for the dvd-rom drive. Therefore, I cannot install the external dvd-rom drive. Removing the laptop hard drive and loading the drivers by using another computer is not an option.
